1. Troubleshooting Sequence for Dehumidifiers Not Dehumidifying:

  • Ventilation System Faults:

    • Intake and exhaust grates: Check for physical damage or aging cracks, and whether intake or exhaust is obstructed.

    • Air filter: Check for blockage or damage by dust.

    • Evaporator: Inspect if condenser fins are dusty or if the evaporator surface is frozen.

    • Fan motor: Examine if capacitors are damaged, if the fan motor is jammed, if the rotor and shaft are loose, if the shaft is bent or deformed, if bearings are damaged (including oil bearings with evaporated lubricant or ball bearings with worn balls), or if the winding is burnt out.

    • Fan blades: Check if screws are loose, if fan blades are deformed or damaged, if blades are heavily dusted affecting airflow, or if small dehumidifier blades are jammed due to heavy dust.

  • Electrical System Faults:

    • Both compressor and fan not turning: Check if the power is cut off, if the switch is on, if the socket is disconnected, if the voltage is too low, if the circuit breaker is tripped, if the fuse is burnt out, or if the compressor is in a three-minute protection mode.

    • Compressor not turning, fan is turning: Inspect if relays, capacitors, or overload protection are faulty.

    • Both compressor and fan are running: This might indicate a refrigeration system fault.

  • Refrigeration System Faults:

    • Check if the refrigerant has completely leaked out.

    • Inspect if the refrigeration system is blocked: dirt blockage, oil blockage, or welding blockage.

    • Determine if there is an excessive amount of refrigerant.

    • Assess if the compressor has no displacement.

  • Compressor Faults:

    • Poor compression, high and low-pressure chamber gas leakage.

    • Damaged operating parts, compressor seizing.

  1. Uneven ground causing the dehumidifier to be unstable.

  2. Loose parts on the dehumidifier.

  2. The drainage hole or pipe of the water collection tray is blocked.

  3. The water collection tray is damaged and leaking.

  4. The water pipe connection is leaking or the water pipe is aged and cracked.
